John the Dyno Guy is mentioned in the August, 1998 issue of American Rider magazine (thanks to Roger Adams for spotting it!). Here is an excerpt from the article:

Article Information: "Dynojet Comparison - How Good Is The Data From These Dynos?" by Joe Minton.
Page 75, Sidebar "Dynos Everywhere", paragraph 11:

"Readers who have seen John Golden, one of the most experienced Dynojet operators, test Harleys on his portable Dynojet at Daytona, Laughlin, Sturgis, and other Harley events will know just how useful this tool can be. Golden can diagnose jetting, timing and exhaust problems with a single run. He told Kenny Buchanan of Buchanan Spoke and Rim that his Sportster was jetted just fine but that the primary chain was loose - it was! Golden has truly become a wizard with this relatively simple tool. Merely owning a Dynojet will not automatically make the operator a tuner like Golden or the legendary C.R. Axtel, but it will make it possible for such people to develop their talents further than they otherwise might."
